Westfield Housing Appoint Their New Chief Executive

Neil Venables

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Neil Venables as our new Chief Executive, following the retirement of Graham Howarth, who has led the organisation for the past 22 years.

Neil brings 25 years of experience gained with housing associations across the country. He is now returning to Cumbria, having grown up in Barrow.

Neil says: “My vision is to build thriving communities that everyone feels proud of. This means more than providing good homes. It means enabling tenants and communities to lead what we do, providing a wider range of community services and working closely in partnership with other organisations. Our Footsteps nursery is a great example of this.”

Graham says: “I have great satisfaction and pride in what we’ve achieved over the past 20 years. I’m handing the baton over to someone who will continue the ethos and values of Westfield Housing and build on our success.”

Peter Bales, Chairman, says: “I want to say a heartfelt thank you to Graham on behalf of myself and the Board for all that he has contributed over the past 20 years. We now look forward to working with Neil and achieving further success.”
